SUNDAY

I do like winter, but when it comes to what to wear I dislike it. I do enjoy the warm coats and cosy jumpers but I feel like I can't really experiment that much. As it is Sunday and  I really wasn't up for doing much other than doing the weekly food shop and spending the afternoon watching Gossip Girl I thought perhaps I would wear something put together yet simple.
  • Coat - Newlook
  • Shirt - H&M
  • Jeans - Miss Selfridge
  • Boots - Topshop
  • Socks - Primark
What do you tend to wear on Sundays?

Increasing Your Blog Traffic | Four Tips

Have you sat back and thought that it would be really great if you just woke up to thousdands of views on your blog? I do this all the time and I know numerous of bloggers out there strive for this and have achieved this through patience and social media.
  • Social Media - use every aspect of it. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook etc. Readers love to see consistency and hard work and regular content, think about it, if they like the content you produce they want to come back to your blog regularly to see it as well as following you on social media sites so they can keep updated with your posts. Hashtags are your best friend also, on Instgram or Twitter try searching for #blogger or anything related and start following, liking or engaging with the other bloggers out there as it gives you a chance for other bloggers to view and follow your blog.
  • Giveaway - I haven't yet tried this but plan on doing so in the near future. An exmaple though, would be to host a small giveaway with some make up products, and promoting this on all of your social media, however those who wish to enter must be following you, or like your last 5 images and to also post that image on their Instagram or Twitter for others to see, once they've seen it they might wish to enter too and so on! It's an amazing way of getting traffic.
  • Pinterest - This is my favourite, a couple of months ago I have about 50 followers on Pinterest, I now have over 500 and thanks to Pinterest I have quite a fair bit of views due to it. Whenever I pin an image in the description I will note my blog, therefore anyone that goes to re-pin will see this and they have the option to click if they want to! Also take advantage of the many groups of Pinterest as it gives you a chance to engage with many bloggers.
  • Comment, comment, comment - Reading other people's blog and commenting really is a huge factor. I adore comments and love reading what people think of the products I have purchased or any recommendations.  Also just think what you really appreciate when people take the time to comment on your blog, read your content, like your images etc - it is a confidence booster in my opinion so it's so crucial!

I hope you find this helpful!

MAC | Pro Palette

25 November 2015

I would say that my favourite make up item would be eyeshadow - for real. You can be completely creative with it from just a simple sweep of shadow to waken the eye or go completely dramatic with a cut crease. I have wanting to create my own Mac palette for a long while now so last month I decided I'd just go for it.

First things first though I needed to purchase the Pro Palette itself which is about £10.00 and the Pro Palette Insert x15 which is about £2.50 - £12.50 and you've got yourself the beginnings of your Pro Palette.

For the fun part is of course choosing your eyeshadows. I only purchase four to start with because I want to watch it grow and I do want to spend my time choosing which eyeshadows I want for desired looks.

From left to right; Gesso, Corduroy, Rule, Red Brick. So far I have only tried Gesso and Corduroy which I am pleased with. I have swatched them all and they are incredibly pigmented. One little, minor, tiny issue - Gesso is a disappointment. It's a beautiful white matte shade however not pigmented at all and it's like trying to put chalk on my eyelid. Of course I will carry on using it but I won't be purchasing that shade again.

Overall though I am so excited to continue growing my Mac Pro Palette! Which eyeshadows do you recommend?

URBAN DECAY | THE BEST OF

19 November 2015

Urban Decay mostly known for their famous Naked palettes - there are now currently four to purchase! Sadly I only own two, the first and the third but they are reached for almost everyday.
So here's to the best Urban Decay products I own in my collection;

  • Eyeshadow Primer Potion; There are currently two in my collection, purely for the reason of emergency - incase I RUN OUT. I wear eyeshadow everyday, since I started being interested in make up I couldn't leave the house without my statement wash of pearl over my lid and that still stands today, 5 years on. Without this product, there would be no eyeshadow for my lids because it is my holy grail and it does exactly what it says and my eyeshadow does not crease at all!
  • Naked Palette; I could write an essay about every shade in this palette, but I simply can't right now. However if you typed into google, Naked palette swatches or review - there will be many great things mentioned about this product. It can create any desired look, but my favourite is a gold, shimmery smokey eye.
  • Makeup Setting Spray; I have combination skin, but I do not wear this product everyday only because I do not wear a lot of make up throughout my working week. On the weekends however or evenings out, special occasions etc a few sprays of this over my face and it is set for good.
  • Subversion Lash Primer; About six weeks ago I had my eyelashes lifted and it was the best thing I have ever done. I didn't need to curl my lashes anymore, which is great. I used this product everyday before the perming of my eyelashes and it held the curl all day. What is also great about this product is it creates a flexible light base for my mascara where as some primers I have tried have left a hard spidery lash look.
  • Revolution Lipstick; If you have read my blog from day one, you'll know my obsession for pink lipsticks is out of control. When I spotted this shade, Native at the Urban Decay counter it was everything I looked for in a pink lipstick. It has been my best friend ever since! This shade well and truly goes with every eye look I wear.

Have you tried these products?

MAC | SWEET & SOUR

17 November 2015

Have I not mentioned my love for this shade of lipstick by MAC? It's named Sweet & Sour and you can see it in all of it's glory from these swatches here. I know it is Autumn and that is screaming the dark shades to make an appearance but part of me is still stuck in the Summer - but let's be honest that really wasn't long ago so I think that's why I'm having a hard time adjusting.

But despite all of that, it is a cremesheen finish which is my favourite due to it being easy to apply and moisturising to the lips. As for the colour, it is a gorgeous pale peach which looks amazing with a bronzed up look and a neutral smokey eye! So for all of you girls and guys out there who are still missing those summer vibes or just looking for a perfect peach tone then Sweet & Sour is the key to your heart.

Have you tried this shade by Mac? What are your thoughts?

BOURJOIS | BLUSHERS

11 November 2015

Today's post is all about blushers. I have quite a few, but I also tend to either go for something sparkly pink or coral. Everyone has their preferences and I am just drawn to those shades. However, I couldn't help but think yesterday whilst I was applying my make up that the blushers I always reach for are the brand Bourjois. I think it is time to experiment and purchase some blushers from Mac, Benefit, Nars etc but I wanted to express why I love Bourjois blushers so much.

From left to right; 34 Rose d'Or, 48 Ashes of Roses, Cream Blush Sun 06, Cream Blush 03.

To start with, there is a wide variety of shades I think on the Boots website there is at least 20 shades to choose from which is great and not to forget to mention, these blushers smell amazing. You might be thinking that is so odd!!! But most of Bourjois products have a floral or fruity smell to them which definitely wins me over. The packaging is adorable and vintage looking as well as being compact. The mirror and small brush are ideal for placing this product in your make up bag for on the go! As for the quality, these blushers are round £8.00 but I think that's brilliant considering they are very pigmented and long lasting. My favourite is 34 Rose d'Or because of it's gold mineralised flecks - it gives a gorgeous pink glow. I've been repurchasing this product since I was 15, I'm now 20... so 5 years of loving this product.

I will continue loving and reaching for these blushers continuously - you should try them too!

Have you tried any of their blushers?

A Christmas Wishlist | SELFRIDGES

3 November 2015

Don't threat too much guys, you'll read this and think "It was halloween a few days ago..." or "christmas is still almost 2 months away" but I love Christmas. So. Much. It is my favourite holiday, not purely just the gifts, but waking up on Christmas day to a fresh crisp morning, the smell of dinner already on the go and spending that day with family and friends. In the UK it is the one holiday were it is really family orientated in my opinion. My mum keeps nagging me for a list, not everything I will see sight of, obviously but she can choose a few items for me! I decided to just browse on Selfridges as everything they have on there I just lust over.

1. Urban Decay VICE 4
2. NYX - Sydney
3. NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer - Vanilla
4. NYX Concealer Palette - Light
5. Ted Baker Earrings
6. Origins Ginzing Moisturiser
7. GIORGIO ARMANI - Si
8. Yves Saint Laurent Mascara
9. Lindt Assorted Chocolate

Hopefully this can help you think of something for friends/family or even for yourself! What are you hoping santa brings you this year?

MORPHE 35N PALETTE

2 November 2015

& finally, it is mine! Just look at how incredible each shade is and just think about the numerous of wonderful looks you can create with this palette.
Everything about this palette is matte, no shimmer. I do love a bit of shimmer but a matte look is what I prefer in my opinion, especially on a day to day basis. This only cost me £15.95 and I googled the swatches, watched heaps of youtube videos on the looks you can create, and it is so incredibly pigmented! One Mac eyeshadow isn't far off the price of this whole palette and there is no faults with it. The colours also scream autumnal. The palette offers so much versatility. You can create a simple nude look or a sultry smokey eye, it is never ending.

I can not wait to try out many looks, so keep posted for them and of course, go purchase your own here - you will not regret it.

Have you tried any of Morphe's products? If so let me know.

RECENT BEAUTY HAUL

7 October 2015

I have been in need of retail therapy, which is probably all the time, in actual fact it is all the time! But there is nothing better than treating yourself to a few new purchases right? I am one of those people that tend to look at reviews but that only applies if it is a high end product. All of the items above I have read great things about. As for the Mac foundation - that is my holy grail - I had to include as it is my favourite foundation.

I have combination skin which is such a pain as I see my skin being greedy! But I've realised that a setting spray is the way forward. So I decided to purchase Urban Decay's De Slick specifically for controlling that oil! So I am excited to see if it does keep it set.

Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Primer, it's aim to do many wonderful things and it definitely does them all. I have been wearing this under all sorts of foundations that I own and I have to say it is brilliant. I used to use Smashbox and that was so pricey but this one, does the exact same for such a cheap price!

Bobbi Brown LongWear Gel Eyeliner, only got to use this once so far - however it's not as black as I thought it would be...don't get me wrong I adored it the first time I have used it, but maybe I need to layer it up more, what are your thoughts?

Urban Decay Lipstick - Native, if you love a pink shade like I do, I suggest you add it onto your wishlist ASAP. This is my first lipstick from Urban Decay and oh wow, it is good. I think I am more impressed with it, than I am with MAC, I'm not sure yet. What are some other shades that you all love from Urban Decay?

Urban Decay Eyelash primer - Subversion,  my last item which I can not get enough of. I have long eyelashes but they do not hold a curl at all. However a coat of this and your favourite mascara it's a solved puzzle.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts?

AUTUMN | FOOTWEAR

2 October 2015

I love this time of year, to be fair I do love every season, purely because with each season becomes new seasonal wear. I picked up these boots from Peackocks which is so rare for me as I never go into this shop, but I thought why not have a browse. These shoes just scream Zara to me! Look at the similarity and for almost half the price, you can not complain! I paid £24.00 for these and I am so happy with them, so if you're in love with them, go snap them up!

As for wear, they are so comfortable and I went shooting the other week and I was standing for hours all day, did not cause my feet to ache. Not to forget to mention they look beautiful with anything and everything you wear.

LUSH | Purchases

1 October 2015

Lush, let's be honest when you walk in there you either love it or hate it. I do love it though, the strong scents do not give me a headache and I want to look at every cute bath bomb they have made! But I have never purchased their skincare items, just the bath bombs. SO I thought why not? I'll drag my boyfriend in there and have a browse and snatch some items.

...I only got two to try, didn't want to buy a lot just incase I didn't get on with them. The first product is;

Celestial Facial Moisturiser
"Help troubled, dry skin become angelic by smoothing this light cream on your face daily. It's made of skin-soothing ingredients that form a light barrier on the skin to help it retain its moisture. Almonds are high in vitamin E, which is said to help protect skin from damage, while dove orchids condition and soothe."
I've been using both products for a week now, and this moisturiser is everything that they have mentioned above. I have combination skin, its oily on the T-Zone but I still suffer with dry patches and amazingly this product creates both opposites to be a balanced match!

Tea Tree Water

"Keep skin clear and refreshed. Tea tree is antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial, so can help keep away the bacteria that can cause spots. Grapefruit is rich in vitamins and is also lightly astringent on the skin, whilst juniperberry is antiseptic and helps keep skin clean and clear. Use any time of day to keep skin refreshed, or to remove traces of makeup or cleanser."

This is perfect if you have acne or if you suffer from the odd few spots. I tend to only get the few are my chin but I have been spraying this before my make up and it leaves my skin feels so fresh! I definitely want to look at more of this range as it is rich in vitamins and it is antibacterial!

September | FAVOURITES

22 September 2015

September is already so close to coming to it's end and I can't believe it. It's also almost been a week since I was in Spain... and this year has gone so fast and I have been blogging for 9 months already and I've come such a long way, which I thank all of you. So back to the topic of my September favourites...

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry - Kiss Me Quick
I absolutely despise painting my nails. I'm quite an impatient person and I'm not one to wait around just for my nails to dry, however this nail polish is great if you don't like wasting time. It does dry very quickly and I only need to apply 2 coats! As for the colour, it is a baby pink but you simply can't go wrong with that. At the moment I'm having Shelac on my nails so this polish is just for my toe, but I've been reapplying it consistently this month so far!

Elizabeth Arden Mascara - Double Density
My favourite make up product has to be mascara, I love having long eyelashes with volume but that it quite hard to find in a mascara. But I think I have found my match with this one. You can layer and layer this mascara and it doesn't clump up on your lashes and the volume it gives is amazing. As for lengthening that also does such a good job. Lately I have been looking into lash extensions and I'd really appreciate your opinions on those!

Rimmel London Kate Moss - 45
If you're looking for a natural nude lip - this is the one. I am a huge fan of Rimmel London's lipsticks as they are so pigmented and creamy too, not to forget the huge variety of shades they have. I have been wearing this almost every day so far as it compliments every look.

Soap & Glory Liquid Eye Liner - Supercat
Normally I reach for my gel eye liner but this has me converted. I normally never opt for a pen like, liquid formula eye liner, but I've read nothing but good reviews on this product and as it doesn't break the bank I thought why not. I'm pleased that I did exactly that as I haven't gone back. It's pigmented, it lasts all day, easy to use and you actually don't end disappointed when you go to use it for the 100th time as it still hasn't dried out.

DUO Eyelash Adhesive
Like I said, I love long eyelashes, therefore I love false lashes. I've just been using the glue that comes with the false lashes but it is pretty poor as I really don't like the fact that I have to reapply my eyelashes later on in the day. Again this was a purchase based on the reviews and I am so pleased. This will last me such a long time.

Holiday | BLANES

19 September 2015

B L A N E S

So I have recently just came back from a place that was filled with tranquility. Honestly, I'd move out there tomorrow but I of course would miss typical British traits. Me and my boyfriend stayed there for a week, and the weather was great besides one day in which it rained so much there was warnings of floods, but it was cool... we chilled in the spa which left our skin feeling amazing! I did hope to go to the Salvador Dali museum as I'm a huge fan, however as I didn't prebook because I didn't know I really had to, it was 3 hours away and it was either a 3 hour bus journey or a short but very expensive taxi journey. I plan on going back next year and for definite I will be visiting the surreal world of Dali. I had the richest hot chocolate, to say it was a drink seemed wrong to me considering it was so thick, I had to slurp on a spoon - haha. Attached are a few images and I really recommend visiting what Blanes has to offer.

Where have I been?

EYEBROWS | 101

22 August 2015

Still trying to get that eyebrow game at 100%? I thought I would produce a "pictorial" for you all, on how I achieve a strong but still natural brow. A few years back, I NEVER filled in my brows, I didn't think anyone did? Stupid I know. I also made the mistake of oveprlucking my brows, especially at the front. I spent a long time trying to grow that hair back, unfortunately it does grow back kind of sparse.

Products needed are pictured below. First up is to brush through your brows with a spoolie. Grabbing an angled brush (mine is from Ecotools) dip the brush in whatever product you use. Currently I am using and loving the Anastasia Dip Brow... won't go back to anything else! I start lining out the shape of my brow on the edge.

Next up is drawing out the top of my brow. Following it's natural shape on the top and the bottom. Then with what is left over on the brush, fill in the front. You want the front of the brow to be lighter, therefore it looks more natural. This next step is optional, but I think it highlights and cleans up the lines. Grab a white eyeliner of a concealer and mask out around your brow and just blend with a tiny detailing brush.

& then your eyebrow game is on point.

EYE LOOK | GOSH | TO HAVE FUN IN LA 002

17 August 2015

I always wear neutral shades but I thought I would opt for something daring. I noticed that Gosh did some pretty palettes, I think there are 3 from the collection "To Have Fun In LA" I was drawn to these shades. As for the packaging, I absolutely adore simple packaging and the mirror is such a generous size! As for the pigmentation, it's strong, but the texture... it's very difficult to blend. I had a nightmare blending these shades... seriously. I spent so LONG. Back and forth I was going in with the shades, and they ended up looking dirty on my eyes. I think I may keep this palette for just adding some colour under my eyes.

KATE MOSS NUDE COLLECTION | RIMMEL LONDON

13 August 2015

This shade, is absolutely gorgeous. There is no other way really to describe it. Shade 48, is a must have from the Nude Collection - Rimmel London. At first it does look quite daunting, but once applied to the lips, it really isn't as powerful as it may seem.  The packaging is spot on, and the texture is moisturising. Will be purchasing more from this collection!

Why It's Okay To Lack Inspiration Sometimes...

2 August 2015

I think we have all been there. It is part of everyone and everything you do or enjoy. Lately however, it's a "thing" that I keep revisiting. It's not nice, no. But it's okay, I've come to terms with the lack of inspiration I have been having lately. I decided to sit down and really think about what may be causing this "thing" and below is what I have come up with.

  • Work Life; For some working full time or part time alongside writing a blog becomes pretty hectic. After you have returned home from the commute and actually facing the front door you suddenly think "I'm ever so tired today, my blog will have to come tomorrow." This thought often becomes an old record playing on repeat.
  • Stress; If you are an anxious person like me, then the blogging life tends to hide under the rug for a while. Finding things to stress about is my mind being evil but unfortunately it's something that I cannot control. Stress is in everybody and everyone has many ways of coping with it.
  • Your Surroundings; To me, when I am working on my blog I need a source of inspiration right before I start that way I believe I will seek 100% on my creativity. Its like having a workout, you need that energy beforehand to succeed and complete the activity.
These are three reasons that I came up with. It doesn't seem like a lot, but when you combine them all together, you have an ugly but powerful mix which really does take a toll on the inspiration you are craving.

As for combatting it, I'm still trying to. But you have to remain positive. Thanks to the blogging community, everyone inspires everyone out there. But learn that it is okay. I have read many similar posts and it gives you a sense of familarity and hope because there are many others out there in the same boat.

Lately I have found that reading other blogs, looking at images gives me a source of inspiration. Following on from that I then jot down some ideas for my blog and hopefully it goes from the paper to the blog for all you readers out there!

It's really okay, and it is all part of the journey.

Much love, Chedsneh xo

SKINCARE ROUTINE

17 July 2015

My skin has been confusing me lately. For years I thought I had oily skin but I've been wrong for the whole entire time. I've been sucking all the moisture out of my skin by using products specifically for oily skin, when really my skin is quite dry. I've worked out that because of the mattifying products my skin has been over compensating for the lack of moisture in bid to create more oil to help the skin.

I have been incredibly silly, I should of paid attention to the fact that when I wake up in the morning my skin isn't oily at all, even my T-Zone. I am happy enough to admit that I have been a fool in regards to paying attention to my skin, and it does have my sincere apologies.

My skin all over is sensitive and dry, I even have psoriasis on my scalp and my elbows which isn't pleasant to have. But in regards to my daily routine of looking after my skin on my face I use just three products! Which you can see above.

Products used;

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Cleaning & Perfecting Milk

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Velvety-soft Toner

Palmers Cocoa Butter Daily Calming Facial Lotion

RECENT PURCHASES

15 July 2015

Lately, my shopping has gotten out of hand. I'm being completely serious now, this is unsafe. I am skint! I don't regret it though as I have purchased some beautiful products. Above is a few of my favourites from my recent purchases.

So I have the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette but I have never purchased the first one. Seems silly as it looks pretty essential to have! I actually picked this up from Depop (which is an app that everyone needs to check out if you haven't already) already I have used this everyday and I am loving it.

Seconds up is the Naked Flushed Palette in Strip, I have been wanting this for so long! But I just haven't got round to it, and it is amazing. Each shade isn't over powering at all, they last all day long and give such a gorgeous glow. I picked this up from Beauty Bay in the sale, the sale price probably tempted me more, let's be honest.

Thirds up, the Naked Basics Palette 2!!! I love the first one, for an everyday look and it is compact so it easily fits in your make up bag. The shades are a little bit similar to the first palette but they still create a compeltely different look. Again purchased from Beauty Bay in the sale!

Elizabeth Arden, the first product I own - I have read good reviews about this mascara however it is £22.00 for a mascara! Yeah I was shocked too. I haven't yet tried it myself, but once I do I'm sure you'll hear of its good or bad news from me soon.

Soap & Glory Carbon Black Extreme Eyerliner Pen. This cost me £6.00 and it is the best eyeliner I have EVER used. This is not being dramatic at all. It really is carbon black too, not a faded black, it is true in its word. Let's not forget to admire their glorious packaging too.

Benefit Coralista Blusher - haven't yet tried this, but from swatches it creates a peachy glow which is what I am after. High hopes as their mascara is the best mascara I have tried.

Lastly, I have become tired of using my holy grail Sleek Eyebrow Kit and I noticed that Beauty Bay were selling Anstasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade - I got the shade Ash Brown as my Sleek Eyebrow Kit was too warm toned for me. If you're seeking a strong eyebrow game - then this is for you.

FAVOURITE PINS - NOW.

14 July 2015

Well, this feels new. I have taken a break, only a 2 week break just to refresh my mind, recharge my creativity and let's be honest... this happens to all fellow bloggers - writers block? Lack of inspiration? It does hit us and sometimes there is an explanation for it, sometimes there isn't. But on the bright side, I thought I would share with you the pins I have been loving recently.

If you don't know already, I am obsessed with Pinterest and you definitely need to check out my boards and get pinning. It is a huge source of inspiration, and there is something on there for everyone. Whether you love art, fashion, make up, crafts, home interior... the list is endless!

So far I have 26 boards that I have given quirky titles and 4,447 pins which is quite a lot!

Board; Painted Face

Board; Second Skin

Board; Ocean
