INTERIOR INSPIRATION

26 February 2015

Lately, I have been more obsessed with Pinterest. To the extreme. I am lover of interior and I am constantly seeking inspiration. Now that I have my own place, I am always looking for ways to make it look more appealing etc. I like a clean finish, but I love texture, simple colours and just walking into a room and it being well lit makes me happy. So below I have picked a few images from my Pinterest board which you can follow here!

Look at this beautiful room, clean and crisp with pattern and simply furniture. Like the fold up table, its so unique and the colours  each other so well.

I'd love to have an exposed wardrobe, but I believe if you have this, there has to be a consistent flow of colour, not colour screaming at you everywhere - that's my opinion, The image above shows calm and muted tones of clothing, that correspond well with the simple surroundings.

I want and need one of these bath tubs! I will eventually get one, when I own my own place or rent a different place that has one of these beautiful pieces. This is a great way of adding some colour to a plain room, especially the bathroom. This just looks so inviting especially with all the flowers. It is like bathing in a garden - haha!

And finally, a good kitchen. I love a country looking kitchen. Especially those sinks. And the wooden worktops and the muted tones just add an inviting and relaxed tone about it. I love tiles that are also laid out in a brick style. They definitely add the impression of more width to the kitchen!

Please note the images above are all from Pinterest.

MAKE UP STORAGE

22 February 2015

Ah, make up storage. It's gotta look pretty right? For years, when I shared a room with my sister, I'd simply have all my make up in one big bag, and I sit on the floor, in front of a big mirror. Sometimes, I do still do that. Sitting at a desk, or a dressing table, doesn't always do it for me. When it comes to storing my make up and presenting it, it has to be simple and all my products have to be accessible.

I like to keep my brushes in some order, face brushes and eye brushes separate. Because I have too many lip products, I have now had to purchase a little basket for all of them, as seen below.

I tend to leave the palettes above always out, as they are my most used. Especially the Naked Basics.

On the right I have all my skincare in a cute open box? I'm not sure how I would define it. But it makes all my skincare organised.

Some lipsticks, I am a huge fan of Rimmel London.

Above is mainly all my eye products, from eyeshadow palettes, brow kits, mascaras, concealers and any liners. Below is face products from, bb creams, powders, highlighters, bronzers and blushes.

THE PURPLE LIP

17 February 2015

The shade purple, it sounds a bit daunting at first doesn't it? It's not easy like your muted pink toned lipstick. It's there, vibrant and sometimes it's screaming at you, but worn correctly, it looks out there and glam.

I believe anyone can pull off just about every colour, especially purple afterall there are many shades of purple. For example, if you like the purple shade but are too afraid to dive in and wear something very bright, then simply go for a more subtle shade, for this I have picked MUA'S Matte Lipstick in Lilac Belle.

My first purple shade I purchased was Sleek's Exxxaggerate, and it definitely suits its name. It is beautiful though, especially when it is paired up with a dark smokey eye or a simple layer of mascara. The only downside of this lipstick, is that it is so DRYING. Literally drying, my lips feel chapped, so definitely put a lot of lip balm on before applying this, and you're good to go.

If you looking for a dark and vampy look, then head towards Collection, because they have it covered. Shade 2 Scorned is a very pigmented and glossy lipstick. I pair this lipstick with a simple eye look, mascara on it own or sometimes a little flick of eyeliner. This is because I think it's a great shade to have attention drawn to it, so by simplifying the eyes, this can be achieved.

& finally here comes M.A.C, the famous shade Rebel! I apply this product with a lip brush, over a purple toned lip liner, as it can be a lipstick that tends to feather on the edges as it's quite creamy. It's hard to explain this shade, as it has a red/pink undertone, which leaves it having depth on your lips. Again though, so beautiful.

What are your favourite purple shades?

E Y E B R O W MAINTENANCE

14 February 2015

Eyebrows, surprisingly they are very important, the tiny hairs that can define the face by their shape.
Not everyone has to mantain their eyebrows, and you are incredibly lucky! My sister and I seen in pictures below, we have to actually trim our eyebrow hairs! Below is a before and after of my sister's rebelious eyebrows.

As you can see, they have lost their shape. To gain the shape back, I took a spooly and brushed the hair upwards, and trimmed the longer hairs.

Afterwards, once the shape was visible again, I plucked the stray hair, never from above the eyebrow, as this can lead to loosing the shape of the natural brow.

And finally I stroked some powder through her brows using the Sleek Eyebrow Kit, and they are done!

Very simple.

How do you maintain your eyebrows?

MOST WORN SHOES - L A T E L Y

Most worn shoes? Lately? Definitely these.

New Look is such a great shop when it comes to their wide variety of shoes. They have a pair for almost everyone, and if you have wide feet... yup no need to worry, they've got pairs of them too! Also, if you don't want to spend a lot, you don't need to, because New Look are reasonably priced, if not more!

So these shoes I purchased and I didn't realise that they did a size 2 now, New Look are just getting better. I have tiny feet, I used to be a size 3 up until the end of last year, my shoes were just too loose for me. I tried on some size 2's - perfect fit. However I was disappointed, I can still wear most of my shoes, but I have to add a few layers of socks!

These shoes look great with tights and a dress or skirt. I haven't styled them with skinny jeans yet, but the strap around the ankle, just make your legs look more toned.

What are your most worn shoes?

SKINCARE I'M LOVING

12 February 2015

I decided to change up my skincare. Not hugely, but I thought making it a bit simpler, so I purchased some new products, which I am obsessed with!

First up is the Botanics Rosewater Spritz;
This smells divine! I get excited using this product, silly I know, but the whole spritzing your face with this, leaves it feeling refreshing! I leave my skin to absorb this, even though it is optional to use a cotton pad to remove the excess, the smell is too good!

Second up, I needed to repurchase the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water, however this bottle caught my eye... its green! I believe the difference with this is that it mattifies the skin, which is good for me, as my T-zone tends to get quite oily.

Finally the Simple Illuminating Radiance Cream;
This product works wonders with foundation! Lately for a dewy and lighter coverage, I have been mixing some of this with my foundation and applying with a buffing brush. It leaves my skin looking lovely and full of glow!

What do you think of these products?

THE PERFECT FOUNDATION FOR OILY SKIN

Oily skin is a pain, it is not the easiest type to work with, and it requries a lot of powder and mattifying skincare. For a while, a lot of foundation was just sliding off my skin, and oxidising which created a horrible orange tone on my skin. Yikes. It did not look pretty! However I realised, if I started changing my skincare up, to something gentle for my skin, and investing in a lot of mattifying powders, I could control this. I did on a daily basis.

Despite all of this, I still wanted a foundation that didn't really require a lot of touching up and one that I wanted to wear for special occassions. I took a trip to the MAC counter, and they suggested MAC Pro Longwear - which is heavenly.

I don't have to keep touching up this foundation with powder, it is quick drying too and it doesn't go cakey or slide off my skin. It simply stays put for hours. I put this foundation on in the morning, and it's still there at about 11pm just before I remove it to go to bed.

I am shade NC20, which is a perfect match for me.

Have you tried this foundation?

The FAVOURITE FRAGRANCE

5 February 2015

"l'eau de chloé
variation in the fresh air...
layers of chiffon in bright sunlight. bare feet brushing long grass. the glow of dawn on the skin. chloé's signature scent opens a new chapter in its story. an aura delicate as a breath of air. like the original fragrance, this unique eau suggests rare elegance and surprising modernity. free, spontaneous, radiant femininity. meet l'eau de chloé…"
This beautiful fragrance reminds me of spring, and it's refreshing morning dew. I love what it has to offer, it has an enticing scent of femininity and maturity. It touches your skin with sophistication. It is natural, not overpowering but leaves you in touch with the outdoors of meadows and flowers.

For a 50ml bottle, I believe this is around £55, which isn't too bad. But it's my simplest yet sweetest and move loved fragrance.
